The evolution of video game marketing

With video game quality improving leaps and bounds every year it seems, it's only natural their marketing would follow.

This is the ad (I almost typed trailer, but cripes it feels like a movie trailer!) for Gears of War for the XBox 360. The game itself looks phenomenal, but the ad itself is so well done.

Plus, they use that Tears for Fears cover by Gary Jules I like so much. Big points there too.

So... who wants to buy me a 360? ;)

Don't do it yet man!!!
Wait for the PS3 Then Decide
Until you know which is better its not worth the money.
Reviews i've read say the 360 is supposed to be a next generation console yet they haven't had any next gen games. Nothing that has blown peoples minds and to wait and see what PS3 has to offer, don't get sucked in by the good song. Thats my opinion
Later Bud!

You may need to make up your mind sooner - I need my original Xbox back. We finished the GameCube game we were working on and we noticed we have an Xbox game we want to try now...

Cheaper than a PC powerful enough to play those games. And what's $500 to a $110,000/year girl? One day's income!

You know what the crazy thing is though? You see ads like this one, which is admitably brilliant, and then you see the ads for games like Grand Theft Auto: Vice City where the graphics look so brutal that you'd think a kid developed it.
