Need some music recommendations

Not for listening to, but for playing.

I'm starting to get back into playing guitar (acoustic) a little more and want some new material other than the usual bunch I play and sing. Right now I can't think of anything worthwhile, so I ask the masses. I typically play the chords of a song so I'm not necessarily looking for something with complicated picking. It doesn't matter if it's a male or female performer... I can make it work.

Any ideas?

Egads

You guys really really REALLY upset my Mom yesterday.

Alrighty, let's not do THAT again! On to.. politics!

So after yesterday's adventure, I think it's smarter if I avoid certain topics up here entirely until they simmer a bit. Again, I know I unintentionally freaked people out and I'm sorry about the misinterpretations. Let's move on, shall we?

So Sara touched on election time recently.. I always find fed elections a blow to my faith in the system (whatever faith I have left!) . Mostly around two factors: No real candidates I feel comfortable with and the fact that everyone during their campaigns would rather tell you why you shouldn't vote for the other guy and not tell you why they should vote for you.

Let's look at the first point. So we have 4 major parties:
Conservatives - Harper scares the bejebus out of me, he'd have us in bed with the states for everything. I'm not saying we shouldn't be economic (and sometimes) political partners with the old USA, but we shouldn't accept their foreign policy just because we're neighbours. Right now, Canada is under zero risk of any sort of threat. Want to create a risk and get a bunch of our soldiers killed? Let's go into Iraq! Woohoo!

Liberals - You have to admit, the mismanagement of money stinks. There's nothing that turns me off more than government waste. It doesn't matter what party is in power - they'll all do it. But my conscience would hurt if I voted Red. And I know it's how politics works, but it was painful to see a party bend their agenda because they're a minority and need more votes. If liberals do win again, it'll be another minority government. To their credit, Martin is the only of the 4 leaders I really see as a P.M.

NDP - Riight. Cause Jack Layton would make such a credible P.M. NDP spends and spends and spends. Look at the last time they had Ontario. Not the direction we want to head.

PQ - Don't get me started.

So part 2, why is it that no party feels they can win an election based on their own platform, and not have to resort bashing the other guy to make themselves look better? It looks to me like a battle between grade school kids and it insults my intelligence. I guess they feel Joe Canadian can't make a decision on who's ideas they like better and has to resort on "They all suck, but this guy sucks the least!"

So, once again, the Green party is getting my vote this year. Their campaign isn't muddled at all.

C'mon, here's something to laugh at

Ding, fries are Done! A little late since Xmas has passed, but still a classic.

Again, all is a O.K. I've gone through a lot in 2 years, you know? There's bound to be some cracks. But I ain't dumb.

OK, relax...

Yikes, looks like I caused some unecessary panic with my last post.

Listen. Many of you are all about drama. Many of you say things you don't mean. Yes, I'm going through a tough time. No I'm not going to do anything stupid. Words are just words. I was thinking I could use this blog as a form of therapy but not if everything I say is going to be taken so seriously.

Relax. And sorry for freaking anyone out.

Haven't posted in a while...

But there's good reason for that. I won't get into details yet although a few of you know what's going on.

If I decide to bake some cookies, I'll be posting in a couple of days.

Hen.
