I missed my chance!!

Apparently in attendance last week at Fratelli's in Kanta, less than 10 minutes from my house, was....

Belinda Stronach!

It's almost as if she's been reading my blog! From Tuesday, September 26th:

"Also, Belinda is a ... great looking woman. (I'm going to be polite since now I think I have a shot with her!)"

That must be it. She read that, saw my handsome pic and figured: "He's right, I could do so much better!" She arranged a trip to Kanata, figuring I would hear about it, show up, and create one of those "chance encounters". I can understand why she couldn't email me, there needs to be discretion especially after everything that's happened. However, I didn't find out until WAY after the fact!

So Belinda, please try again. You could even create your own anonymous gmail account (I could suggest liberalpuckbunny@gmail.com) and contact me that way. I look forward to speaking with you!!

(Note: This posting is entirely meant in jest. I have no delusions about Ms. Stronach persuing me. I'm just poking fun at mostly myself. Don't sue me.)

The Dash

A colleague at work died yesterday after a long battle with cancer. I'd never met her in person since she worked out of the North Carolina office, but I spent countless hours on the phone with her, working out issues and coming up with ideas. She was always a pleasure to work with. While admittedly there are some that make your job harder, she was always a help. I've missed her since she's been away from work, and I'm sad I won't have a chance to speak with her again. It's been my honour to know her.

A bunch of folks here have been trading emails, sharing their memories of her. One of them included this movie.

I'm usually not one to promote sappy sentimental stuff, but this one was well done and hit home a little.

K-town is really becoming posh...

Just read in the paper that the average household income for a family in the 'Kanata South' riding is over $95,000!

Holy crap! I know real estate here is getting crazy, but now I understand how these folks can afford to buy those 300, 400K monster houses.

I know this is really a sign of how many families have become double income, but standard of living costs usually adapt to what families can afford. That's really going to leave single income households in a bind down the road..

The difference between 'Unfortunate' and 'Not Good'

'Unfortunate' is when you discover your car has a leaky sunroof.

'Not Good' is when this happens in the middle of an automatic car wash.
