Support your local Ottawa artists!

Hey all,

I've added the link to the right, but want to reinforce the point that you should check out Tanya Janca, "alternative punk folk artist" here in Ottawa- www.tanyajanca.com. I put that in quotes, cause it is pretty hard to put a label on what she does. Tanya is super cool, and I would encourage all of you to check out any of her shows, download some songs, buy some albums. :) Some of you may remember that we were in a band together a couple of years ago.. something I miss being a part of.

I'm discovering that being in music scene is not only something that I like doing, but something I need to be involved in from time to time. I've been brushing the dust off my guitar, trying to get the old skills going again. Maybe I'll get back into a band, maybe I'll just play backup, maybe I'll try to strike out on my own. But in some way, I need to get back in it. My time for this is limited, however, but hopefully I can get away with a once a week practice session or something.

Now THAT was some hockey!

Most of you probably don't know that every Tuesday night, I play pick-up (ie. not league or anything) ball hockey with a bunch of the guys: Brad, Justin, Jeff, Sean, etc. Jon comes out if he's not doing math. :)

The nights are usually fun, but last night we had some really really good hockey. Well balanced teams, good energy, excellent passing, Sean was actually letting some goals in and a sub on each team so we didn't have to cough up blood. Of course, high energy means we're all paying for it today with welts and bruises and cuts, but hey that's part of the fun. Jeffy definitely gets player of the game with some stellar goaltending. There was one save... you just had to see it.

Hopefully we can keep up that level of play. It just isn't the same trying to play 2 on 2. :p

It's official

I am now of the official marital status of 'separated'.

End of one chapter, beginning of another. What a wacky 3 years this has been.

Last night hit home a bit when I came home to find that things had been moved out. A home loses something when there are blank spaces where paintings, photos used to be. The empty spot in the living room where the couch used to be looks fairly odd too. Good thing I have 3 more downstairs!

What really sucks I probably won't be in a position to start buying stuff to fill the blank spaces for quite a while, as I've got a lot of debt to work off first.

Anyhow, thx for all that have helped me through this. I've managed to come out of it with a somewhat positive outlook on my new arrangements.
